With so many Swine-flue related e-mails flooding my mail account, I thought it would be nice to get rid of the fear which TV channels/emails are inducing in people's mind. Here is one way ...

The Yog guru has stated that doing "Pranayam" regularly will make the heart strong that can prevent the virus from infecting the body. He has also stated that there is a plant named "Gilloi" which can be both, a preventive measure as well as cure for Swine Flu as it makes the respiratory and immune system strong.

We had a team meeting today which was presented by our division head. He was addressing the global economic slowdown, its impact on our company and a few options of cost cutting which are going to be implemented. Obviously our company is no exception in getting affected by the economic tsunami. The first slide which was presented had the gist of the presentation.
This slide is copied from a famous presentation given by The Sequioa.
The EC has told that the next general elections would be held in April-May this year. So, I take this oppurtunity to remind you all guys to wake up, register and vote this time. I know you would have already thought of some reason to escape. No registration, No voter ID, No good politician ... stop this. India is changing, improving. Come out of hibernation.
You all might have seen this 'Jagore' ad on TV. It is a really good website helping you to register online and answering all you basic faqs on elections. If you have read this article, then you must visit the Jagore webiste, spend some time(No, your boss won't scold you!!). If possible spread this message, create awareness among your friends and collegues. Send bulk emails. No, this is not considered spam!!
I have already told this to students who are now in my alma-mater, asking them to run a campus voter registration drive.
If you still haven't clicked for the website, then you are really sleeping. Click Click Click !!!
I dont beleive in people telling that Raju lied by doing false promises about the successes, facts, balance sheets of the company. There is nothing he did hidden. He always said, what ever I say is 'Asatyam - Its a lie' and still people believed him. If you dont beleive me, have a good look at the name of his company on his campus buildings. They say it - 'A'Satyam.....
(& for all the tubelights, the complex sybmbol of satyam looks like 'A', followed by the name)
Although I knew Chyawanprash since my childhood, it was interesting for me to know it’s legend. I came to know about it when I was watching an old telugu movie ‘Sati Sukanya’. The legend goes this way …
Aswini Kumars (the two celestial doctors) come down to earth to prove their worth in medicine after a quarrel with Lord Indra. Narada Maharshi suggests the two doctors to go to an elderly sage by name Chyawan, if they want any further help (something like customer care). Meanwhile on Earth, sage Chyawan had been pursuing a tough penance since ages. It was a really tough penance and an ant hill had already grown over him (as per the movie)!
Enters the Heroine…Sukanya, is the daughter of a local king. She along with her friends comes to forest on a weekend. She sees something shining and blinking from an ant hill and pierces it with two twigs. Oh God! They happened to be the two eyes of sage Chyawan. With this act the sage Chyawan goes blind. The king comes running after knowing this and pleads sage Chyawan not to curse his child, for she had done this act unknowingly. He also offers his daughter to sage Chyawan as wife so that she could help him for the rest of his life. Sage Chyawan agrees and they both marry. Aswini Kumars come to sage Chyawan. They see him in an old and helpless situation and decide to cure him off his blindness and old age and get him back his youthful life. They then prepare this Ayurvedic herbal jam which could energize and rejuvenate the old sage. The sage consumes this medicine and gets back ‘surakshit tan aur teez dimaag’. From then on we have this medicine as an elixir of life…Chyawanprash!
India
is facing so many problems: Corruption, Terrorism, Rowdy-ism, Politician’s
mamagiri, Black money…. You name it, we have it. Politicians are making a
mockery of democracy with the power of police and courts.
I have been watching TV shows these days by many news
channels who ask people of solutions to the existing problems. Some say change
politicians, some say Police should be stricter, some say privatize all the
govt offices, and some suggest that all citizens should have one year military
training. These solutions are fine, but let me tell you they wont work. Politicians
never change unless they have some fear. Police won’t work effectively unless
they come out of fear (that they get transferred or suspended). Govt. officers won’t
work as they don’t have fear.
I was surprised to see this news a few years ago. Prime
minister of England,
Tony Blair’s son was arrested for being drunk and driving a car. The police
officer directly called up the Prime Minister of UK, asked him to come to
police station and gave him a half-an-hour lecture on the incident. All this
happened when Tony Blair was still the Prime Minister! Can this happen with a
local MLA in India?
These are all different problems, but in my opinion they
could all be set right with a single solution. Make the Police and Courts
federal. What that means is that the Police and the judicial departments should
not be governed by politicians, but should work independently and autonomously.
No politician should have the power to suspend/transfer/influence a
police/judge. This will slowly but effectively set right the ‘system’. Think over it.
