High'derabad

An year ago when i came to Hyderabad and joined Analog Devices for my internship, i had to find a room to stay. i had no problem in finding  one. It was quite affordable at Rs.1700/-. But today when, i am planning to take a 2BHK flat for rent i'm not finding any good one. The real estate rates in Hyderabad have grown to such an extent that im unable to get a decent one even for Rs.8000/-!! Although i have got one for Rs.6500/-, i had to compromise on some grounds, staying 10Kms away from office and a 3rd floor flat without a lift. I have booked this one temporarily going with a saying that - A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. The increase in the rates has been exponential. I would say, exponential to the power of infinity. It all happened in just 1 or 1.5 years. A 2BHK flat of around 1000sqft is costing above 35Lakhs, no better than Bangalore. I am spending around 1/5th of my income just to pay my home rent!! I really wonder how a non-IT guy would live here.

well, not exactly. yes 1 year back i did argue that Hyd was cheap. infact it was. i know a few owners, atleast 5, who have raised their house rents from around 4K to 7-8K since last year.
