Caricature issue

The row over the caricature of Mohammed is taking an ugly face. Yes, there is a problem with the man who drew this. He is gone crazy, and crazier is the editor who published them! Islamians may protest the publication. But, why the hell on this earth should the government of Denmark ask apology for it. Denmark is a country which believes in free press. It leaves to the people/readers the right to judge what is correct and what is not. That is not what i'm concerned about. What hurts me is the way these anti-caricature rallies are held throughout the world. I'm more concerned about the way the processions took place or taking place or will still take place, for God knows how many more days, in India. Having said this let me make it clear that I am also vexed by the way these religious processions are carried out by various religions.

Why should the fanatics burn the shops nearby, why should they loot them? Why should they hurt the innocents? There was a rally against this caricature issue in Hyderabad this Friday. Suddenly it turned out violent, protesters throwing stones at the shopkeepers, looting them, shouting some comments on other religions, burning busses. And this incident took place almost some 15-20 days after the actual publication. it is more like you have a quarrel with someone in the bazaar and come infuriate at your family or destroy your own house. What else could dishonor Islam? A few irrelevant caricatures or the damage caused by violence on innocents? I don’t think even if Mohammed was alive, would be any happy with what is going on!

It is a shame on the fanatics who mar the good face of a religion and bring a bad name to their fellow men.

To all this, one UP minister added a comedy bit to this scene by announcing Rs.51 crores to who ever beheads the Danish cartoonist! Ha! Ha! Ha! Hello! Mr. MF Hussain, are you listening?
